Gothic waste basket for a cute vampire/victorian look
Your first step (pictures 1&2):
take any wastebasket or small trash container you have and spray paint it black (or whatever color you prefer). Use at least 2 coats of paint.

step 2 (picture 3&4):
when paint is dry, take news-paper and masking tape, and tape the news-paper around the waste basket so that only a few inches from the tape to the top of the container is exposed. Paint that part red with red spray paint.

Step 3 (last picture)
embellish the basket with lace, some ribbon on the top edge and perhaps a cute pendant or two. The best way to put the ribbon and lace one would be hot glue gun, but permanent glue will due.

Hope you enjoy ^_^

brilliant! i can't believe your basket is so "overlooked"; it should be featured somewhere <3

this is rather funky - being a bit of a goth myself...lol!! my son is becoming one too (14 years old) so i could tweak it a bit for a more "manly" look - thanks for the how-to...Happy
