My first mx and first application of henna!
As it says, my first application. I printed out a pattern from a henna art website and kinda eyeballed it :)

I did this last week and the pigment is still really strong! Henna lasts for about 1-2 weeks, depending on how much you use your hands, how warm your body runs, and the freshness of your mix :)

The first picture is about an hour after I drew it on, so the paste is still on. The second is the next day after I removed it. The color darkened down to a rich brown color the day after (48 hours after the application). If you have any questions, just ask! I might do a henna tutorial on how to make it, although there are toooons all over the internet :)

I did make my own, it was very easy. I live near a large Indian population, so I drove over and picked up some powder at a tiny little convenience store. When we got home, we sifted the powder, and then slowly mixed the henna with lemon juice and eucalyptus oil. Not sure about my ratio of lemon juice-eucalyptus oil-powder, but you want the consistency to be like brownie batter. I then let it sit in my window sill for two days.

I'll make a tutorial when I run out of the mixture... I made a lot XD

Check out thehennapage.com for a sample of henna. You have to pay postage, but its supposed to be really good! Also, that page has tons of info on henna Happy

Did you make your own henna? If so, please share your recipe, or where you found it. If not, what brand did you use? The kind I have ends up far too light regardless of how long you leave it on. Happy
