for girls of all ages, not just for kitties any more
I love making cat ears and believe that every little girl wants to be a cat, and every woman should have a pair of these stashed away for a party or for just fun.

  • Step 1

take that cheap old headband and cover it with glue on the top. Center your black fur over then center of the top and then glue to the bottom so the seams are neat.

  • Step 2

Then take that coat hanger and cut off the rounded ends, leaving room of 1/4" on each side for later.....don't they kind of already look like cat ears? Bend them with your pliers if you need to to make them more cat like. Also here would be a good place to bend those extra 1/4" flat away from the ear....so you can tuck it under the fur and attach the ears to the head band.

  • Step 3

now take those wire ears and trace around the outside of them on the inside of the black faux fur...how? With chalk silly, and using that same chalk trace the inside of the wires on the inside of the animal print. **side note, chalk will not soak through your project, it doesn't need to be washed out, it just flies away when the project is shaken".

  • Step 4

Now take those two beautiful pieces of fur and glue the black 1/8" over the animal print. Give the appropriate amount of drying time and then slide your wire cat ears in.

  • Step 5

Decide where on the head you want the ears to sit, and now take that wire and find a loose spot in the fur's weave and ram that wire in there. I've done this a ton of times and it gets easier over time. Squirt a little glue down the hole, making sure not to get any on the external fur, this will hold the ear in place.

  • Step 6

So now you have cat ears, but we want these to dazzle, so get out your glue of choice and your sequins and run a perimeter of sequins around your cat's inner ear...this can cover a multitude of sins if your gluing didn't go so well.

  • Step 7

Then add your ribbon to the outside corner of the front of the cat's ears and viola you have a super sweet pair of fancy kitty cat ears. Can't invest that much time? So do it to a pair of pre-made ears or just order a complete set from

but really I think this is a project that anyone can do.
