  • Step 1

    Start with 8 chain stitches

  • Step 2

Connect them to create a loop, using 1 slip stitch

  • Step 3

Then just go round and round in this pattern:
1# round 2 single crochets all the
    way around
    2# round 1,1,1,2 single crochets
    3# round 1,1,1,1,2 single crochets
    ...
20# round 1 single crochet all the
    way around

  • Step 4

Then crochet as in the 20th round until beret is the depth you want it to be

  • Step 5

Decrease the number of stitches by skipping stitch 3,then stitch 2 in the next round

  • Step 6

    Enjoy :)

First I love your berets and I want to make one. I was in the process of making one and I have a couple of questions for you.
1. Did you keep a mark that told you where the beginning was?
2. did the beret start to curl or ruffle up as you were doing the rounds?
3. Is every round single then double?
sorry but i got lost can you please help me.
