  • How to make a snowflake. Beaded Snowflake - Step 1
    Step 1

You can use 4-8 beads or more for making the base ring of the snowflake. The number of beads you'll use for the base ring would be the number of points of the snowflake. Cut a 20 inches long thick plastic thread or beading thread. Thread 5 small beads into the thread.

    Step 2

Thread the 6th bead from both sides and keep 2 inches thread left on either side.

    Step 3

Pull and tighten the thread to form a ring of beads. Thread the remaining 2 inches thread around the beads of the base once and cut off the rest.

    Step 4

Now that the base ring is ready you can make loops around the base. We've cut off one side of the thread so there's only one end of the plastic thread remaining. Thread 1 large bead into the thread, followed by 5 small beads.

    Step 5

Now pass the thread through the large bead and the small bead next to it (clock-wise), see the picture of this step. Pull the thread to form a loop with the small beads.

    Step 6

Again thread 1 large bead, followed by 5 small beads into the thread. Similarly, pass the thread through the large bead and the small bead next to it (clock-wise) and pull it to form the second loop, see the picture of this step.

    Step 7

Like the previous ones, thread 1 large bead and 5 small beads, then pass the thread through the large bead, the small bead next to it and the first large bead (clock-wise), again pass the thread through the small bead next to the first large bead. Keep repeating these steps till you reach the strand for creating the 6th loop. Pull and tighten the thread to create the 6th loop.

    Step 8

In this step we're going to link the loops. Try not to use the same beads, I'd prefer crystal beads for the linking. Thread 1 crystal bead.

    Step 9

Now pass the thread (marked with red line and arrows) through the 2 beads (marked with yellow circles) as shown in the picture of this step.

  • How to make a snowflake. Beaded Snowflake - Step 10
    Step 10

Again, thread another crystal bead and pass the thread through the beads (marked with yellow circles) as shown in the third picture of this step. Do the same till you link all the loops

  • How to make a snowflake. Beaded Snowflake - Step 11
    Step 11

Follow the previous instructions for beading the 6th/final crystal bead and then randomly pass the remaining thread into 5-6 beads to make sure the beading is secure and it doesn't come off. Cut off the rest of the thread and enjoy the beaded snowflake!
