It's double sided!
My Mum has a small obsession with bunting ^^ And she wanted to decorate her diary for school, so here's what I came up with!

  • Step 1

First, measure the exact side of one side of the diary. Cut 2 pieces of cross-stitch material this size.

  • Step 2

Sew on the 'grass' and the bunting flags first. I used a machine for this, or you can hand sew, but a machine zigzag stitch stops the material from fraying too badly.

  • Step 3

Then, embroider the flowers/grass things, using your colourful embroidery threads!

  • Step 4

Add any buttons or embellishments on now.

Repeat steps 2,3 and 4 for the other piece of cross-stitch material.

  • Step 5

Attach the two pieces of cross-stitch material to each side of the diary (front and back), using Double Sided Sticky Tape.

  • Step 6

Then cut out long strips of blue gingham using pinking shears, to act as bias binding. Glue this onto the sides and the spine of the diary, and you're done!

  • Step 7

If you have any questions, please comment below or message me. Thanks for looking at my project ^^
