I like punk but emo came from punk, even though I don't like emo. Actually I think emo came from Hardcore (dc in hardcore stands for washington DC don't cha knooow) or a mix of hardcore and punk, but I doubt someone went 'hey I've found this sound it's like harcore and punk but not let's call it emo and be an emo band'....anyways I like punk, emo always seems like it would appeal more to younger people.

i think it really depends on the band too. punk just reminds me of middle school and all those little skaters smoking weed in the bathroom and trying to be "so punk rock" haha.

Punkrock all the way...I just can't stand those emo-dos...and don't even get started on the music. Well, it's just not my cup of tea and has never been, everyone should be allowed to listen to anything they like(even emo! ;) )...just not in the same room with me ;)
