University and Racism

Has anyone heard about this?

"Taken from the UCLA event page,

"On Wednesday, February 5, 2014, students were alerted of an anonymous document sent to the UCLA Asian American Studies Center containing what can only be described as a collage of sexist slurs and racial epithets. Referencing language and imagery from an incident during Fall Quarter 2012, where a sign stating “asian women R Honkie white-boy worshipping Whores” was posted outside the UCLA Vietnamese Student Union Office, the document makes a deliberate effort to induce hurt and to provoke a response. It would be foolish to assume otherwise."

So...I'm posting this to start a discussion and also get out this news. I was just wondering if this is just floating around the "college bubble" or if people elsewhere have heard about it. I remember the racist "Asians in the Library" video got out because it was viral, but these events seem to have less news spread about them.

I can't say I've heard of that in particular, but racism on campuses is pretty rampant at times - I heard of one where black people had bleach thrown at them. I wouldn't say college kids are more racist than other people, but I think people feel more comfortable expressing themselves there - whether that's femenism and civil rights, or racism and sexism.
