DIY Constellation Embellished Felt Hat
Recreate the look with Lisa's constellation hat tutorial:
How would you describe your style?
Retro meets grandma meets nerd! I love pretty dresses and fluffy skirts mixed with novelty jewellery, fun head pieces, and Mary-Janes. I'm also still keen on elements of the emo style that I rocked in my teens; I can't resist black dresses and spooky accessories!
What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?
My best friend, Bec, made me a gorgeous knee-length fluffy a-line white and black polka-dot skirt that I wear almost constantly. It's so comfortable and it goes with so many things, plus I think of my amazing friend every time I wear it.
Who are your style icons?
Emma Watson and Zooey Deschanel always look amazing, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu inspires me to create and have fun with colour, and I would like to own every single thing from Peggy Carter's wardrobe.
Do you have any favourite designers?
I can't honestly say that I really know any designers!
Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes?
I spend more time at the op-shop then is probably healthy, but if I'm buying new I love Hell Bunny, Sourpuss, and Dangerfield.
Do you make or customise your outfits?
I'm almost always wearing a handmade accessory; I love to craft jewellery, crochet hats, mitts, and scarves, and make flower crowns and hair bows. My dressmaking skills are still at beginner level, but I have made some skirts and a dress which I'm still quite thrilled by!
Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?
Accessories are the best! A plain black dress can be given so much personality with the addition of interesting jewellery, a fun flower crown, and cute knits. Choose things that make you smile, and have fun with it!
Which other fashion blogs do you love to read?
I really admire people who have a strong sense of their personal style; in particular, I follow Cazz (Nerd Burger), Midge (Modern Girl Blitz), Katie and Amanda (Junebugs and Georgia Peaches), Kathy (My Peach Days), Becca (Ladyface Blog), Michelle (Creature Type), and Twinkie Chan who I think all create amazing and inspiring outfits! I also have a tendancy to spend a lot of time looking through Pinterest and Tumblr for rockabilly, pastel goth, and geek inspired outfits.
