My name is Vladimir, I'm a graphic designer and illustrator living in Odense, Denmark. In my work I love to combine my interest and passion towards illustration and graphic design, with the use of both traditional and digital mediums. My inspiration comes from science and nature on one hand, and fantasy, fairy tales and all sorts of mysteries on the other.

Have you always been creative and artistic?

Yup, as long as I can remember I was a creative person always doodling and making monsters out of plasticine.

How would you describe the style of your work?

I would describe it as detailed, atmospheric and slightly bizarre. I am very much influenced by old books - encyclopedias and fairy tales, so I love combining the fantasy and the scientific elements in my work.

What’s in your pencil case and what’s your favorite tool?

That would be watercolor colored pencils! I love using them as you can have the regular colored pencils effect and add lines, layers and textures and at the same time have the spontaneity and transparency of watercolors.

Who is your favorite superhero?

As a kid of the 80s, I grew up watching "Masters of the Universe" and "Ninja Turtles" so I love the variety of all the good and the bad guys those series had. I kinda find most of the characters, the main ones, all the mutants and their pet hybrid monsters, very original and creatively conceived.

If you could have one super power what would it be?

Teleportation - so much time gets wasted trying to get to places!

Where do you look for inspiration?

Nature, anatomy, mystery and the supernatural. I always loved ghost stories, fables and folk tales so I guess those things still inspire me today.

Who are your favorite artists or comic book authors?

I am a big fan of the "The Adventures of Asterix" cartoons so one of my favorite comic book artists is Albert Uderzo. I just love how alive the comics were, even before actually becoming animated! My other favorite artists come from the Renaissance and up to the modern arts with Bosch, Klimt and Dali being at the top of the list!
