• 

  Step 1

  Gather your supplies. You'll need a brooch back that comes with a detachable beading plate with little holes in it and an image you love for the focal point.

• 

  Step 2

  Cut a length of beading wire measuring roughly 20" and fold in half.

• 

  Step 3

  Place the loop of wire through the first hole on the beading plate and twist the ends of the wire together to secure.

• 

  Step 4

  Thread one of the smallest pearl beads onto one tail of the wire and then thread the wire through the next hole in the bead plate.

• 

  Step 5

  Thread a large pearl onto one of the wire tails and an extra large pearl onto the other wire tail and then bend each of the wire tails outwards at a 90 degree angle.

• 

  Step 6

  Thread a medium bead on to each tail and then bend the wire tails down at a 90 degrees angle.

• 

  Step 7

  Thread an extra large bead onto the same tail as the one you put a large bead on earlier, and a large bead onto the other tail with the previous extra-large bead so you're alternating the sizes, and then thread both tails into the same hole as your first bead.

  Step 8

  Turn the brooch over and twist the two ends of the wire together at the back.

  Step 9

  Bring the wire tails back through to the front of the brooch at either side of the holes the very first bead is in and thread on another small bead.

• 

  Step 10

  Repeat this beading pattern for the rest of the brooch.

• 

  Step 11

  Just before you bead the final few beads, make your focal piece by attaching a flat sided marble to your image of choice with some double sided adhesive sheet and trim off the excess edges.

  Step 12

  Use some jewellery glue to attach the marble into the middle of the brooch.

• 

  Step 13

  Finish beading the final few beads. These will also help keep your marble secured in place.

• 

  Step 14

  Turn the brooch over and twist together the two wire tails, fold into the middle of the brooch and trim.

• 

  Step 15

  Attach the brooch back and secure.

• 

  Step 16

  You're all done!

I'd love to make something like this but maybe as a hair piece. I don't tend to wear a lot brooches. This is adorable though!
