How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

2011

What projects are you currently working on?

I'm currently creating a Marie Antionette-inspired collection of statement necklaces, headpieces, bracelets, earrings and beaded dresses! I got super-inspired after watching Sophia Coppola's Marie Antionette recently, and loved the over-the-top luxury of the aesthetic. I wanted to re-create a collection inspired by the colors, textures and materials in the costuming. Stay tuned!

What does your craft space look like?

My craft space is usually cluttered (whose isn't?!)...but I always have my salt lamp, a lot of light strands and inspiration on the walls! (I emailed a picture)...

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?

Aside from pliers, I find myself using the Crystal Katana tool (for easy pickup of crystal flatbacks) a lot whenever I work with crystals and glueing.

What do you craft along to?

This may sound weird- but I am a huge sports fan! My favorite teams are the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Cubs - so hockey and baseball are always on, depending on the season!

Favorite Craft

My favorite craft is jewelry making - and my favorite pieces to make are statement necklaces! The chunkier and sparklier, the better!
Crystals and gemstones are my go-to materials, mixing those with chain and occasionally faux leather, for a boho feel.

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?

I would love to learn lampworking! Working with glass is something I really have never done - but the intricate look of lampworked beads has always been so pretty to me!

Who are your crafting heroes?

I love Kelly DeFries (the Crystal Ninja) and got an opportunity to meet her at Bead and Button show in Milwaukee this year! She's so glam and sparkly! Also, Margot Potter - I connected online with her through a mutual friend. I read all her books when I started making jewelry, and I love that she is unapologetically herself!
