How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

I joined in 2015 after Cat invited me to share a DIY Fashionista project. I stayed because I love the variety of projects!

What projects are you currently working on?

I'm currently knitting a colourworked hat - the first one I made was too small so I'm trying again with the hope that this one will fit me!

What does your craft space look like?

My craft space is our second bedroom - it's pretty tiny but it has a huge cupboard which definitely comes in handy! Our house doesn't have much storage space, so this room also holds our overflow of books, vacuum cleaner, holiday decorations ... luckily the cupboard helps me hide all of that away ~___^ The walls are lined with shelves I brought at the hardware store and IKEA and most things are in cardboard boxes, also from IKEA. The boxes help corral odd shaped craft supplies, and I classify things usually depending on what type of craft they'll be used for. For example, I keep all my stamps, stamp carving tools, and ink in the one box. However, some crafts are too big for one box; my crochet hooks and knitting needles are in one box, but all of my yarn takes up another four boxes!

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?

I'm pretty flighty when it comes to crafts so it's tough to pick! I think probably my scissor collection is my favourite though; I have special scissors for fabric, and for paper (and a pox on anyone who tries to use them for the wrong crafts!), a tiny pair of scissors on a chain for on-the-go crafts, and, of course, my trusty scalpel. I use them for sewing, paper crafts, crochet, knitting, and embroidery so I've quite often got some kind of blade in my hand. Sounds ominous, doesn't it! ~____^

What do you craft along to?

I like to listen to Triple J, SBS Pop Asia, and Welcome to Night Vale while I craft, or watch TV shows like Criminal Minds or Elementary (I'm a sucker for a crime drama!).

Favorite Craft

I really like crochet, because I like getting into the rhythm of the stitches and seeing the finished project appearing as I go. I also like that if I make mistakes, it's easy to frog a bit and then keep going!

I think my favourite thing to make though is art canvases. I like that there aren't any rules and that I can make a big mess with basically anything in my stash but still create something beautiful.

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?

I would love to learn how to solder jewellery. Every now and then I look up prices for jewellery making classes and sigh wistfully ~____^

Who are your crafting heroes?

I really admire Twinkie Chan, for being so true to her own style and such an amazing crochet whiz. Elsie and Emma from a Beautiful Mess are also very inspiring and I love seeing their home decor posts. I also have a lot of crafty friends, many of whom I've met through the internet, and I admire all of them - you know who you are! ~____^
