We head to Seattle, Washington to meet DIY junkie and craft-a-holic, Impatiently Crafty!

Featured Member Interview
How did you find CO+K and why did you join?
I found it by searching for craft projects on bing.
What projects are you currently working on?
Right now I’m working with my scroll saw (new toy!) and a $3 cabinet door that’s solid wood from the Re-store Seattle. I used the scroll saw to cut out a guitar silhouette from the center of the cabinet door. Painted everything but the cabinet border black. Then I am putting behind that cutout image a decoupage of Beatles music cut out in guitar pic shapes. I’m also using some my kids art work and cutting out guitar pic shapes as well, as the art piece is for their grandpa.

What does your craft space look like?

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?
My Mitre saw. I actually built a full table so I can stand up and cut wood anytime (you can see it in the picture of my workspace)! It’s a must have tool in my garage.
What do you craft along to?
I listen to Pandora a lot on my wireless boom microphone in the garage and usually listen either to chill music ala lumineers style or Macklemore style music.

Favorite Craft
Lately I’ve been really into building things, I love making furniture and custom pieces that fit in our home. I just made 2 outdoor sofa’s from ana-white.com’s plans and my husband and I built a fire table. I love building and using power tools! My newest toys are a scroll saw and router, so I ‘m slowly learning what I can do with them

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?
Right now I am really wanting to learn to re-upholster, I’m pretty intimidated by it. I have been seeing some amazing upholstery pieces that I just wish I could refinish or recover and haven’t quite got the nerve up to tackle it. OH! And I so wish I could take better pictures for my blog, haven’t quite tackled that one yet.
Who are your crafting heroes?
Absolutely Ana White from Ana-white.com she inspired me to try woodworking and took some of the fear out of the tools and saws. Now I customize her plans and am making pieces of my own design. I also really like Mandy from Vintage Revivals, her creativeness is so inspiring.
