When did you first start crafting and how did you learn?
My family and I have been crafting for as long as I remember. It's been passed down for generations. And each of us is better at one thing over the other. For example, my grandmother paints porcelain beautifully & my mom makes fun party games. So, each of us learns from the other. Apart from that, we're internet addicts. Which means exploring all the time & constantly learning.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
The first thing I remember, is this simple card that I had made for my dad when I was 5. I had drawn a Snoopy & pasted it on cardboard. It makes me cringe to look at it now. But since that day, my sister & I have made a handmade gift for our parents on every birthday/anniversary. So, it started a nice tradition.
Where do you look for inspiration?
Nothing specific honestly. But, we do try to think of daily problems that we solve with DIYs. Like learning how to make paper bags in 5 minutes, so that you aren't lost when you need one.
What's your craft space like and how do you organize your supplies?
Our craft space usually looks neat & tidy with plastic boxes & handmade drawers for all the supplies (thanks mom!). We have cupboards which have sections for each category of materials. So, it's pretty organised. But once we start working, all that changes very quickly. It's super messy & oddly that's exactly what we need to work.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to craft along to?
This is something that changes quite often, as we almost always listening to music while working. At the moment, we're obsessed with youtube covers & the soundtrack from Pitch Perfect 2. All time favourites include Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift & The Script.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
We absolutely love trying different craft forms. We recently tried Batik. Before which, we did a lot of parchment & quilling. Which is probably why, we use a lot of quilling strips in our projects.
Apart from crafting, all of us have varied hobbies. My sister is a movie buff, my dad enjoys watching cricket & my mom and I are voracious readers.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Always be passionate about what you do. Good Things will follow.
