Tell us a bit about your home and what you love about it the most?
I just moved into my childhood home after 21 years of living in Greece, so now I am in the process of transforming everything. I really love to upcycle and repurpose things, and this old house with loads of hand me down furniture is just what I want to keep me occupied for years.
What was the first DIY project you did to your home or first thing you made for it?
For this current home I painted old laminate bookcases and gave them a new life with paint and wrapping paper. The result was incredible because they went from dark wood to off white and instantly made the room look larger.
Do you have any tips for staying tidy & organised?
I am always saving those boxes that Amazon sends my way. With a bit of wrapping paper you can transform them into pretty storage bins.
If you could tour any celebrities home, who would it be?
Not a specific celebrity but someone who lives in an old castle in Scotland. Those places look like they would be hard to make cozy.
If you had three wishes, what changes would you make to your home?
I would update the plumbing, the floors and get new windows. All practical things. The rest I'd enjoy doing myself.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I love to embroider and to sew in my spare time. I also like to watch tv series with my kids.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I am always looking for ways to spread the word about upcycling and repurposing. When I lived in Greece it was a necessity because of the economic crisis but now it has become a challenge for me. To see how I can transform things with the power of paint and do so frugally. Because you can have a beautiful home full of items that are one of a kind when you take the time to create them yourself.
