When did you first start knitting / crocheting and where did you learn?
My mom first taught me how to knit and crochet when I was around six. I enjoyed knitting as a kid and didn’t really get into crochet until I was out of college. When I discovered amigurumi in 2009, I was hooked!
Can you remember the first thing you made?
When I was first learning, I knit a little purse all in knit stitch. It was probably the ugliest thing ever because it was made with brown acrylic and my rows were uneven, but I loved the heck out of it anyway and carried it around for years.

What are your favourite things to stitch and do you have a favorite item you've made?
I like to knit and crochet anything I can get lost in. There's nothing better than that point where you've memorized the pattern and can just let your mind wander as you work.
My favorite item to crochet is any of the fatimal characters from my blog. These amigurumi are all basically made from the same pattern but with different details and accessories. They’re so much fun to make and they whip up really fast.
The item I am most proud of is the Sleepyz Blanket I designed and the story I wrote to accompany it.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
I listen to Bjork; Coldplay; Modest Mouse; the Amelie soundtrack; Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind; and ambient music.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
Next to crochet and knitting, my favorite hobby is writing. I used to write a lot of short fiction, but over the years, that has morphed into the comics and picture stories I create for my blog. I also love trying new crafts! My favorites have been loom weaving, building dioramas, photography, sewing, and making soap, jewelry, and greeting cards.
