What are your hobbies?

I love everything about the ocean. I love being by it... and I love afternoons on the beach, especially with a little bubbly! I love sharks too, I have an obsession with them actually. I love silly legends like Loch Ness (actually visited the Loch last summer!) and Big Foot. I love watching science programs on Animal Planet and Discovery Channel... no E! or TLC for this gal! I love drinking with my hubby and friends, especially red wine.

What are your favorite crafts and what's your craft space like?

My favorite type of crafting is WEDDING crafting!!!! I've always been obsessed with weddings... so combining my love of weddings and crafting (which is what my DIY wedding blog is all about) is an absolute dream come true for me! I love helping brides craft something special for their special day!

What do you craft along to?

I like everything as long as it's not distracting. I like listening to songs that I know by heart or watching shows or movies that I've already seen... then I won't get distracted from whatever I am making. lol! I also really like the hubby to be around, he's my dj - I say "DJ... can we get a little something different...." and he takes care of it!

What was the first project you ever made?

I have a couple memories worth noting; my Mom was always incredibly crafty and she always had us making something, and I mean ALWAYS. I have done SO many crafts... but I remember using my first sewing machine to sew designs on paper... I also remember helping her turn doll skins right side out after she had sewn them (that was a crafty side job of hers)... and my most favorite is I remember making 'fairy houses' when I was about 7 - which ended up being published in a Victorian Home magazine. I would go outside and collect sticks, leaves, flowers, rocks - anything nature provided and I would hot glue everything together to create dreamy, miniature homes for fairy's. Of course they only lasted for like 2 days before the flora and fauna started to decay... but they were lovely. **What kind of a mother lets their 7 year old use a legit hot glue gun??!! My Mom; and now look where I am.

What are your favorite items to make?

I love making candles!!!! ...and lip balm and soap and things like that. I love making items that I can actually use. Like sewing a tote bag... or making jewelry - the more useful the better!

Which other craft blogs do you love to read?

I read a wide range of craft blogs; Jader Bomb, Lea Griffith, Damask Love, Studio DIY, A Night Owl, Mod Podge Rocks, Handmade Charlotte... and of course Craft Gawker - if that counts!

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Always follow your heart. I have wanted a career in crafting my whole entire life - but I never thought it was possible. I am actually a full time hair dresser with my own tiny little shop down by the beach... but that is not my passion. I starting writing my crafty wedding blog because of my love for those subjects and because I listened to what my heart was telling me, three years later I am about to make it my full time job! It is literally my life long, dream come true. If you listen to your heart it will never lead you astray...
