I started crocheting when I was about 15 years old. Both of my grandmother’s and their mother’s crocheted, and once they sat down and showed me the basics, I was hooked (no pun intended).

The first thing I ever made was a baby blanket for my cousin, which turned into a trapezoid because I was adding an extra stitch at the end of every row. I kept wondering why it was taking me longer and longer to complete a row, and I finally figured it out. I unraveled my mess and started over.

I don’t really have a favorite person in mind, but I love browsing Etsy and Pinterest to see what others are making. I’m always picking up my favorite crochet magazines as well including Simply Crochet and Crochet Today.

This is tough because I love everything I crochet. That’s what warms my heart about handmade goods, it’s that they are made with so much love and care. One of my favorite items I have crocheted so far is a basket for my yarn that I am using for current projects. Yes a yarn basket made of yarn! That’s why I love it so.

I love crocheting while having HGTV on in the background. Currently my favorite music to listen to while crocheting is The Head and the Heart or a mix of country music.

I love many types of crafts, but lately I have been on a hand printing kick. Other hobbies include baking, gardening, camping, fishing, and I can’t forget to mention playing with my dogs!
