When did you first start knitting / crocheting and where did you learn?
My Oma taught me how to knit when I was 18. I really wanted to learn and she was a pro! So when I was in town I would go over and drink tea with her and she would teach me the basic techniques. But she was super intense about it, if I made a mistake I had to pull the entire thing out, which was devastating to me at the time (yes I was an emotional 18 year old). She taught me the basics, and I learned the rest through trial and error and online tutorials!
Can you remember the first thing you made?
An ugly thin scarf for my boyfriend at the time.
Who are your favourite pattern designers and celebrity knitters & crocheters?
I absolutely love everything from Tiny Owl Knits. I love all of the animals she incorporates and I always use her animal faces even to use with a different pattern. She's the best.
Jared Flood of Brooklyn Tweed is also fantastic and I love all of his sweaters. I'm currently swooning over his Hawser sweater.
What are your favourite things to stitch and do you have a favorite item you've made?
Right now I'm really into knitting sweaters. Long projects with intricate details.
My favourite item item to stitch has been pillows for my BFFs wedding shower. I used Tiny Owl Knits wolf and bear heads to stitch onto the front and freestyle knit the rest. They turned out beautifully and she was so excited about them.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
I'm currently binging on Scandal, it's so addictive!!! It's intense but luckily I've been able to watch and knit along without making too many mistakes... so far.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I love anything DIY. My best friend and I have a side project - Limberlina, where we make all sorts of DIY goodies. Right now my hobbies include going to the dog park, and hanging out with friends.
