When did you first start sewing and how did you learn?
My mom tried to teach me the basics when I was a kid, but that wasn't too successful. When my daughter was born in 2006, I gave it another shot for a couple of years, but it wasn't until 2012 that I became a true-blue enthusiast!
Can you remember the first thing you made?
In 2006/2007 it was an owl softie.
Do you have any favourite pattern designers or celebrity sewers?
I love An of StraightGrain, Liesl and Oliver + S, Yoshiko Tsukiori for kids' patterns, among many others. For adult patterns, Grainline, Sewaholic, Closet Case Patterns are fantastic, but I really love them all. It seems like a new pattern designer and new sewing blog pops up every day!
What's your sewing room like and how do you organize your stash?
I actually sew in my bedroom! Our master bedroom is huge, and there was a lot of unused space. At first I sewed in my basement but it felt too dark down there. I decided to use half of the bedroom as my "studio" and it's been working out well!
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
Lately I love to listen to audiobooks via audible or podcasts. My favorite podcast is The One You Feed.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
Watercolor painting and writing started as a hobby, but now I do it professionally. Recently, I've become obsessed with healthy cooking.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Thank you for including me!
