Tell us a bit about your home and what you love about it the most?
Despite being confined to renting an apartment, I love being able to make it feel like a home with small additions here and there. Lucky for me, I have an open floor plan and a flexible landlord that make it easy to update little things whenever I feel the urge! My home is what I make of it.
What was the first DIY project you did to your home or first thing you made for it?
When I first moved in to my apartment, my roommate was completely indifferent about decorating and I was broke. The first thing I did to add character to our dreary living room was repaint and draw Sharpied doodles on her old stools to make them into modern and very unique side tables that matched our new doodle design couch pillows at the time.
Do you have any tips for staying tidy & organised?
I think that the best way to stay organized is to make it more fun with colorful bins and washi tape. I find that it's easier to tidy up when I get to buy new boxes and create pretty labels. Plus, it makes a bunch of "junk" look much nicer stored in fun containers or on spray painted bookcases or shelves.
If you could tour any celebrities home, who would it be?
Well, they may not be celebrities to everyone, but I would love to tour Elise & Emma's homes from the blog A Beautiful Mess. I've been following them for years and seen so many photos that I would love to actually see their homes in person.
If you had three wishes, what changes would you make to your home?
Besides buying a home of my own I would:
1. Expand my kitchen and move my oddly placed fridge
2. Replace my not-so-modern wood flooring
3. Update my shower walls and facets
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I craft anything and everything I can! I have so many ideas but so little time, and right now I'm working on improving my sewing skills. I also love baking anything sweet, especially cupcakes with homemade frosting.
