When did you first start sewing and how did you learn?
As a teenager my mom taught me how to use my grandmother's old singer (straight stitch and zig zag, nothing more). I loved it. I learned for real about 4 years ago by myself with the help of sewing books, internet tutorials and lots of practice.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
A tutu-like skirt made from an old curtain. I loved it but if I saw it now, I would find it horrible, hehe.
Do you have any favourite pattern designers or celebrity sewers?
I love Tasia's patterns (Sewaholic patterns). She's made amazing basic patterns with great details, and even if she designs for pear-shaped women, they fit great on everybody.
What's your sewing room like and how do you organize your stash?
I have a sewingroom/office at home with my computer where I design my patterns, my sewing machine, my fabrics, the ironing board. I'm not very good at keeping everything in order so you can easily find fabric on the ironing board, patterns on the sewing table, a variety of things on the floor... But the light in there is amazing and i love working in my little atelier.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
I sometimes listen to music on the radio and if I have some hand sewing to do, I like to watch a movie I've already seen (my movies of choice: anything with James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Cary Grant or Audrey Hepburn. I know, I'm very cliché).
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
No other crafts, sorry. I like to read when I'm not sewing (which doesn't happen that often).
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Thanks for featuring me in Sewing Superstar! I hope you'll enjoy the tutorials.
