When did you first start sewing and how did you learn?
I started sewing when I was 8 and have a small X stitch sampler I made. From there I have taken a few classes in school and summer sewing classes. I have always loved using my hands in a creative way. Quilting started up around 16 years ago with my first quilt… done by myself and then joined a block of the month group. I have been hooked ever since.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
Initial pillows
Do you have any favourite pattern designers or celebrity sewers?
Lisa Bonjean and Lynette Anderson
What's your sewing room like and how do you organize your stash?
I have a small cottage in the backyard that is my space. It’s fits mostly everything including a long arm quilting machine. I love having a space to retreat to from the family and have my own space to design and sew in. It’s not ideal in the Utah winters…but I make it work.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
I usually don’t listen to anything. I occasionally listen to the radio, but for the most part it’s quite. I am writing down instructions and ideas as I go and I find it hard to listen and do that at the same time. haha
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I collect dolls….handmade ones from my favorites online. I also love mixed media projects, paint, draw, and am usually trying something new.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I love creating and trying new techniques. From others looking in, I might look scattered, but there really is a method to the madness and I really love the journey of exploring and designing.
