Have you always been creative and what’s the earliest work you can remember creating?
Yes, ever before I knew the word "art" I was drawing and painting. My grandmother had a wall just for me to draw mermaids, I was probably 6 or so. I simply cannot imagine not creating something.
What's your studio like and how do you keep organised?
My studio is a place of chaos. We recently moved, so that made things more interesting lol I had to pack many things and I am still in the process of re organize, but I like to keep the most used tools near so imagine my art table. It is not neat but it is happy.
Where do you look for inspiration?
Depends on what I am working on. Sometimes it's nature, sometimes it is looking at people. Sometimes books with paintings, then I find a color combination that sparks something in my mind.
Whats in your pencil case / camera bag?
My handy drawer: a huge napkin roll, paper already cut for small format art, tubes of acrylic, a box with watercolors that I need to store somewhere else. A new box of ink bottles I am yet to use. A box with too-long brushes. A tiny gourd that makes me smile. A list of projects for this year (where I keep writing down more stuff)
Any tips for someone suffering from creative block?
Start! Simply grab pencil or brush and splash paint, make doodles... do not even expect perfection, simply start and see what happens. Join a challenge or follow a list of prompts on a theme you like.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
Oh my gosh... do I ever! I love painting, making dolls - in many different materials-, making videos! I don't think of them as hobbies but as obsessions lol I like taking pictures of Nature and flowers as you can see in my instagram ... I absolutely love painting in small art cards. I also love organizing challenges for people that want to improve in painting/drawing faces.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Keep your paintbrush wet!
