What are your hobbies?
I practiced Interior Architecture before opening my arts and crafts store and I still have a love of design and architecture.
I've also recently discovered a passion for photography and photo editing. (How did I miss this? How is it that I did not discover this earlier?? Lesson to others, try EVERYTHING!) :) This was one of the reasons I finally started a blog - to practice photography while sharing my crafts.
What are your favorite crafts and what's your craft space like?
Sewing, jewelry making and metal stamping
What do you craft along to?
I always to listen to one of my Pandora stations when I'm sewing. I sew and discover new music at the same time and that's a good way to spend an afternoon!
What was the first project you ever made?
Absolutely! It was a simple gathered apron with two front pockets that my Mother taught me how to make. She would sit me in front of her Kenmore sewing machine, explain the instructions and then leave. I would finish that step, yell "Maaaum!" and then she would come back in the room and read me the next step. We repeated this over and over until the apron was done.
What are your favorite items to make?
That changes with the seasons. In the winter I enjoy knitting and tend toward quick and easy accessories. After knitting for a few years, I've found that I enjoy the repetition and rhythm of knitting and I find it very relaxing. More challenging projects, with complex charts, stitch changes, etc., ummm, well I've tried them, but they're not so much my thing. When it warms up in the Spring, I start making jewelry again and bracelets are my favorite item to pile on and make.
Which other craft blogs do you love to read?
Henry Happened and My Good Morning are two of my favorites. Not only because they have great DIY projects, but because their photos are so beautiful.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
