When did you first start making jewelry and how did you learn?
I first started in high school when I couldn't find jewelry that I wanted affordably in stores... I basically googled tutorials and found the craftster.org craft forum, which is still one of my favourite resources.
Can you remember the first piece you made?
To be honest, not really. I probably gave it away at some point... but it was probably a rough looking piece, hah.
Where do you look for inspiration?
All the visual media I consume, nature walks, and fictional books :)
What's your craft space like and how do you organize your supplies?
I love sewing actually, but I'm not doing a lot of it currently. I generally either sew for practical purposes (i.e. a pillowcase or hoodie) or because I'm making costumes for Anime North, an annual convention that my boyfriend and I attend.
My craft space is usually in flux between mildly messy to very messy. I usually have 2 - 5 different projects on the go, and you may see the evidence of that laying across my desk and window sill depending on the day.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to craft along to?
I love listening to the sound of rain as it helps me relax and concentrate. I use the site rainymood.com whenever I want a dose and it's actually sunny out.
I also make playlists on youtube that I listen to on occasion. If I don't need to be super productive, then I'll watch a show on my computer.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
As I mentioned I do sewing on occasion - both using a machine and just hand sewing. I have recently gotten more into cross stitching and am enjoying that.
When I'm not crafting or studying or doing a plethora of other day-to-day stuff, you can find me reading, doodling, or trying a new cake recipe.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Nupe, thanks for reading through all that text!
