Tell us a bit about your home and what you love about it the most?
I didn't realize it until a few years ago, but I always pick soft neutrals for the walls because I like for the items in my house to do all of the attention grabbing. I've spent a lot of time cultivating all of the unique and different treasures for my home and I'm really proud of the adventures I had to get them.
What was the first DIY project you did to your home or first thing you made for it?
Definitely the pantry. When we moved to this house I hadn't had a closet pantry in years! I was so excited that we camped out in the new house without a bed for 2 days just so I could get the pantry finished before the movers arrived. I'm lucky in that I have a husband who doesn't mind sleeping on the floor to humor my creative whims.
Do you have any tips for staying tidy & organised?
Being organized is really one of my favorite things to do! I think my best suggestion is to group, box and label everything. If everything has a home your more likely to make sure it gets back there.
If you could tour any celebrities home, who would it be?
Probably Martha Stewart, I know she's a little stiff but the girls got style.
If you had three wishes, what changes would you make to your home?
Landscaping, a covered deck and more wood floors.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
Growing up, my dad had a really wonderful jack of all trades mentality and a mother who taught art-- I like to think it's something they passed onto me. There's not much I haven't tried yet or are unwilling to add to my list-- I've owned my own Antique / Re-Purposing store, renovated a 1900's house, planned weddings, redecorated entire houses, taken classes in stained glass, sewing, jewelry, ceramics, drawing and painting, sculpture as well as traditional darkroom and digital photography. I think the only thing I haven't really tried yet is welding and my husband doesn't know it yet but it's on my to-do list this year.
