I love to read, bake and garden.
What are your favorite crafts and what's your craft space like?
I love all kinds of crafts. I love to sew and crochet. I enjoy building things and baking. There is just something about creating that I enjoy immensely, and I'm not afraid to try new crafts.
I have a guest room that doubles as a craft room. It's painted in my favorite color and I have a sewing table, a larger craft desk and a closet filled with supplies.
I will admit that most of the time, my projects end up being made on the kitchen table.
What do you craft along to?
SILENCE.... I know it's weird, but I crave the silent times when I can just think as I'm crafting. With 4 kids, those times are few and far between.
What was the first project you ever made?
I remember my mom teaching me to knit (I've since forgotten) and crochet (I do still remember this) when I was quite young. One of my first projects was a hotpad. It was supposed to end up as a square, but ended up lopsided, although still usable.
When I was 15, my mom bought me fabric for three dresses. I followed the pattern and made them all with very little help. That experience really boosted my confidence that I can tackle hard projects.
What are your favorite items to make?
I like to make crafts and decor for my home.
