Adopt Your Clothes

My mom taught me to sew in elementary school, but I didn't really start getting into it until midway through high school. And then in college is when I started making my own patterns and upcycling thrifted clothes. Upcycling clothes really happened out of necessity because I couldn't afford to continually be buying fabric for my projects, but I could remake thrifted clothes a lot cheaper.

I honestly don't follow the designer and fashion scene. I know I probably should, but I just like wearing what feels good for me! And I've always thrifted most of my clothes, my mom is a huge thrift store lover.

Wear what makes you happy and comfortable! For me, that usually means neutrals and lots of comfy clothes. I also like pairing crop tops with high waisted bottoms a lot. Another favorite of mine is adding a bit of leather to an outfit to edge it up a bit.

I honestly don't follow any celebrities at all. But, there is this Michael Kors purse (the Bristol bag) that I saw at Macy's about a year ago and I absolutely fell in love! I haven't bought it yet (due to being a college student who doesn't make much money), but hopefully in the future I can get it!

I love Confessions of a Refashionista! She has a great style and such a fun personality that really comes through in her posts. I also really like reading Creative Fashion Blog's posts. She comes up with some really cool, creative DIYs. And another blog I like is Scratch and Stitch. She has some amazing refashion tutorials.

I've always loved anything crafty and creative! I'm also into photography and I like sketching and painting. I also made most of the decorations for my wedding last fall. Other than that, I like outdoor activities like riding my horse and fishing.
