I made these pieces for my 10yr old niece's bedroom. She had asked for something "with shoes". Earlier this year I had painted her dresser in a pale pink and white zebra pattern, so I wanted to run with that theme. I painted the canvas boards in white, and let that dry. I then painted on the stripes in black. While that was drying, I cut out a template of a shoe - note: there are 5 pieces to this shoe template (the outer shoe, the inner side, the sole, the heel and the inner heel). For the inner shoe, I simply used the plain side of the patterned scrapbook paper. For the silver I used a slightly more matte version for the inner heel. I applied each piece of the template to the dry painted canvas starting with the outer shoe side and working out. For interest, I made one piece horizontal and one vertical. My niece adores them and her friends want them. Link to shoe template available at http://www.making-greeting-cards.com/find-card-making-ideas.html To get the shadow heel like mine, cut the inner 1/3 of the heel (vertically) from the darker silver/gray.
