About

This one was made real quick, which is good, because this weekend is the launch of the new year theme of Youth Red Cross in Flanders.

You Will Need (3 things)

  • 2 T Shirt
  • Scissors
  • Sewing Machine

Steps (15 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Take your plain fitting tshirt, along with the shapeless printed shirt.

  2. 2

    Cut out the print.
Make sure to cut it out with plenty of room around the print for easy sewing.

  3. 3

Turn the tshirt inside out en place the print with the print itself ON the wrong side of the tshirt.
This is probably a good time to tell you to use a print you can sea through the fabric...

  4. 4

Take some time to eat your miniature pizzas.
You've already done great, you deserve a little break.

  5. 5

Pin your print onto the tshirt.

  6. 6

    Start sewing around the print.
I used a machine foot thinghy you're supposed to use for zippers and things so that I can keep a close eye on the drawing of the print.
Take it slow, you're not in any hurry, go about 2 mm around the lines of the drawing.

  7. 7

okay, that was the tricky part.
Now for something a little trickier.

  8. 8

I first cut off the red cross part because I want to use it for the front.

  9. 9

Cut off the extra fabric, you really don't need it.

  10. 10

turn the tshirt right side out and admire your sewing work.

  11. 11

cut out inside the sewing lines. Make sure to only cut the fabric of the black, fitting tshirt. Be carefull, you don't want to mess this up.
Cut about 2 mm from the sewing lines

  12. 12

    Et voilà!
    Looks awesome!

  13. 13

    Now for the front:
Take the red cross part patch thinghy.
Turn the shirt inside out again and put the patch with the right side on the wrong side of the tshirt.
    repeat all of the above.
You can do it in one piece, but I did it separately, the cross, the 'Rode Kruis' bit and the 'Vlaanderen' bit.

  14. 14

    All sewed.
    Almost done...
Yeah, the cross part didn't go so well.
I can make it up with the next step. No worries.

  15. 15

Turn right side out, cut out and all done!
Now you're ready for your Youth Red Cross year theme launch!
