Once you open the Knappa Hanging Lamp kit from Ikea, you will notice that it comes with a cord, a frame, and white plastic "petals" which snap onto the frame. Read the instructions and practice snapping on a few of the petals, just to get a sense of how the fixture is configerated.
Next, use the white petals included in the kit as a template to cut 40 new petals from your x-rays. Use an X-acto knife to make tiny X marks on the x-ray petals in the same position as the holes in the white ones. If you have a hole punch that is small enough, you may use that instead. (A word about x-rays: these are very difficult to find. I asked my vet, my dentist and my doctor. Eventually, I collected enough from friends and Ebay!)
Lastly, snap the X-ray petals onto the frame according to the directions. Use a very low wattage light bulb, and you're done!
