There are many times when a large bag is just too inconvenient to carry around. For example, when one goes to the movies, or as Miss Shannon says, when out clubbing (we have no clubs here in PV, AZ, heh heh...), or even just for a quick grocery store run. So I created this little thing after some research online from big time handbag designers. Here is a quick little version I whipped up in about an hour. It's my first tutorial so I hope it's simple and understandable.

So I created this little thing after some research online from big time handbag designers. Here is a quick little version I whipped up in about an hour. It's my first tutorial so I hope it's simple and understandable.
You will need the following items: Sewing machine and sewing implements; 10 1/2 inches by 6 1/2 inches of both dark med wt. fabric (I used black duck) and liner fabric; 5 1/2 inches of non-sticky/ sewable velcro closure; approx 12 inches x 1 1/2 inches strips of exterior and liner fabric for strap; coordinating thread. OPTIONAL: I used a red satin decorative strip on the outer fabric. FINISHED MEASUREMENTS FOR BAG ARE APPROXIMATELY 6 INCHES x 4 INCHES; STRAP IS A 5 1/2INCH LOOP x 3/4 INCH WIDE. The fabric you cut includes seam allowances.
Make the strap (wrong sides together, stitch long sides about 1/4 from raw edge, turn out the right side, and press... You may stitch to reinforce the shape)
With wrong sides of liner and dark fabric together, pin short sides and stitch 1/4 inch from raw edges. Turn right side out and press.
After pressing, pin one side of the velcro to one side of the pieces you just put together. Do the same BUT on the opposite sides... Follow the picture. Stitch velcro into place.
Turn the dark side out and choose where you want the opening to be.
With the velcro still closed, turn the lining side out and pin the sides to stitch the shape in place. DO NOT forget to attach the strap; should fold the strap in half and place it on the right side of the bag. Stitch the sides closed.
YOU MAY SKIP THIS STEP AND GO ONTO THE NEXT. To further shape, the bag if you choose to sew the bottom corners of the bag to create a box bottom effect. mark at 1/2 inch from the corner and stitch at mark.
ANOTHER OPTIONAL STEP. Zigzag stitch raw edges to keep seams in check.
Turn the bag right side out through the velcro opening and you have your wristlet.
I am very happy with this. I just throw it in my big bag and use it when I must. Simple, convenient, secure. By the way, if anything is unclear, please let me know. I will try my best to make it more understandable. Feedback and constructive criticism are always welcome. Thanks.
