Description

The simplest method is something I call a wrapped knot. Here’s how to do it:

Instructions

  1. Small 111668 2f2015 10 24 185523 screen%2bshot%2b2015 10 24%2bat%2b19.54.34

First, wrap the end of the thread around your index finger twice.

Use your thumb to gently roll the thread off your finger. As you do this, those wraps will become twisted together and form a ring.

Then, use another finger to anchor the top of the loop against your thumb, and slide it down to the end of the thread. That will cause the loop to gather up into a knot. Pull the knot tight. It may take a little practice to get the hang of this technique, but once you do, it’s a quick, secure knot for hand sewing.
