This is a very effective way to bring more light and color into a room. Great Job! I also really like the simplicity of this craft!

No, I live in Hamburg, but you´re right, that "kauf dich glücklich" sign is from Berlin! Happy
I bought my liquid starch at Budnikowsky or Rossmann (if youre in Germany) and used liquid glue (flüssiger Bastelkleber - Kleister geht aber bestimmt auch) for the bast. Viel Spaß beim basteln!

I found mine at fleamarkets and asked for them in wine shops, sometimes you can even buy wine in those boxes. Good luck on your box hunt! ;)

I can not wait to make one of these! I saw one years ago in a DIY magazine, but forgot all about it until I saw your tutorial! I need a cute, light pendant to hang in my dining room and I adore the look of these! Instead of getting a cord, though, Lowe's has pendant lamps for $19 without the glass topper over the bulb.

PS. I'm going to use your winebox shelf idea, too! I just need to find out where I can get some! <3

I tried to explain that in the last step. With the wire ring you keep an opening on one side of the ball while wrapping your cord around the ball. When everything is dried you tie another wire from one side of the ring to the other on which you tie a third piece of whire which you can wrap around the lampcord.

Sooooo nice and you make it sound easy.
One of my friends made one a couple of years ago but instead of ball used a balloon and when she finished she
just broke it with a needle.
