Choose the yarn you want to use. I chose to use a range of natural fibres, including banana yarn, nettle and hemp. You will also need an embroidery hoop, which you can purchase at a craft/ haberdashery store or from Amazon. You can use a needle to thread the yarn, but this is optional as you can also use your hands, this would just be more fiddly.
Take the middle hoop and tie on your yarn.
Start wrapping the yarn around the hoop, making sure that it is tight.
If you want multiple colours, you can tie yarn on in sections and add on another colour. These vertical yarns will form the 'warp' and the horizontal yarns you thread through them will form the 'weft' of the weave.
Using a needle, or your hands, thread the yarn between each thread, going over and under.
Do the same on the back, wrapping the yarn around the hoop and turning it over.
Once you have the structure in place, you can add more lines into the pattern, getting closer to the edges.
Final step: Take the outside hoop and put them back together.
Finished outcome.
