First I scored myself a killer motorcycle mechanic's shirt at the thrift store.
And then I grabbed a dress I had that I liked the way it fit and cut the shirt into a dress shape. click on image to see full vertical
Now I had to get to work salvaging the scraps to make the shoulder straps and ties. Since I was working with a striped shirt and I was being picky about which way the stripes were going this meant I needed to seam rip the collar for one set and the upper back yoke portion of the shirt for the other set.
Now all I had to do was sew it all together.
I placed the the ties in the side seams and stitched up each side seam.I then sewed the top edge under and then the shoulder straps onto the top edge. click on image to see full vertical
