Our friends are opening a new craft shop and we offered to help out by crafting up some sign and what better way to show off the wool selection than with some wool art.
Our friends are opening a new craft shop and we offered to help out by crafting up some sign and what better way to show off the wool selection than with some wool art.
To start, you'll need a square of wood.
Mark the middle of the wood with chalk and section off into quarters.
Hammer nails around the outline of the first and last squares.
Sketch the shape of the letters inside the squares with chalk and then hammer nails around the outline.
Wrap the tail from a ball of yarn around the first nail of the outline rectangle and knot to secure.
We're going to fill in the outline of the letters on the first and last letter, so zig zag the yarn between the outline and edge of the letter.
Zig-zag the yarn back down to make a cross design.
Continue working your way around the outline and letter.
For larger areas you might have to zig zag several times between different nails to fill the area enough.
Keep going until you're happy with the design and then wrap the yarn around the outline of the letter several times to make it nice and distinct.
Now hammer nails around just the outline of the second and third letters.
Fill in the second and third letter with yarn.
Fill in the outline of the final letter and you're done.
