You've seen wood initial monograms for sale but you can totally make your own! With just a few supplies and a little time, you can make your monogram in any font you'd like.
Begin by deciding what font and size you would like your initials to be. Cut out your initials using card stock paper to use as a stencil.
Line up the letters on the wood so they are all touching. The letters need to touch so when it is cut out it will be one large piece.
With a pencil, trace around the letters.
If you would like, add a border around the letters. Make sure this also touches the letters so they are all connected.
Using a jigsaw, cut out the letters and border.
If any of the wood chips, fill with wood putty.
Sand down the wood putty and then wipe clean of dust.
Paint the letters and frame the colors of your choosing. Embellish the frame or letters if you'd like as well. Once paint is dry, paint on a coat of Mod Podge to seal.
Hang it up using Command Picture Hanging Strips and that's it! Admire your work!
