Description

I've been giving our kitchen a crafty makeover recently and decided to make some wood burned utensils with cat and bear faces.

Instructions

You'll need a set of basic wooden utensils for this craft. You should be able to pick up a set cheaply at your local supermarket, though this will work great with old ones too.

  2. Small 111662 2f2015 10 23 191745 img 0444

Set six glasses, which are big enough to hold your utensils upright on a counter. Pick some paint to match your kitchen. Our kitchen has a colour theme of rainbow and chrome, so I choose a chrome enamel paint.

  3. Small 111662 2f2015 10 23 191816 img 0445

Dip the handles of each of your utensils in the paint.

  4. Small 111662 2f2015 10 23 191907 img 0447

Place each utensil upside down in the glasses, with the handles pointing up and allow the paint to drip down. Leave to dry.

  5. Small 111662 2f2015 10 23 191938 img 0449

If you'd prefer a neat edge, use masking tape to mark a line.

  6. Small 111662 2f2015 10 23 192018 img 0451

Sketch some smiley faces on the backs of your spoons and spatulas and carefully trace the design with a wood burner.

When you're happy with the design, erase away and excess pencil marks.

    You're all done!
