An easy way to recycle those little vending machine/Gashapon capsules and any spare charms or earrings that lost their twin. I didn't bother making diagrams because it's pretty self-explanatory but if I get a lot of requests I'll doodle up some step-by-steps. :3

Description

An easy way to recycle those little vending machine/Gashapon capsules and any spare charms or earrings that lost their twin. I didn't bother making diagrams because it's pretty self-explanatory but if I get a lot of requests I'll doodle up some step-by-steps. :3

Instructions

  1. Small hammer 1268197265

On a flat surface that you don't mind getting a little scuffed, hammer two holes slightly off-center in the capsule lid. If you're going to hang a charm, do it to the other part too (note: the softer plastic ones work better; if yours is the kind that cracks/shatters easily, you might be better off with a drill).

  2. Open the jump ring on the key chain with your pliers (the one connected to the charm - I used a banging Puerto Rico one from the dollar store) and thread it through the holes. Make sure the chain/actual key ring will be connected then re-close the ring to attach it to the lid.

  3. If you're making a simple one, you're done! But for extra cute I decided to use a little fimo slime charm I made and attached it to the bottom. Just attach it through the two holes like you did the keychain.

  4. You're finished! I'm curious to see if anyone replicates this. Maybe decorate it with paint pens to coordinate with the charms? The possibilities are endless.
