You Will Need (10 things)
- Jewelry Wire
- 4 Assorted Feather Beads
- Wire Cutters
- Jewelry Pliers
- Jump Rings
- Jewelry Chain
- Clasp
- 3 -6 Assorted Beads
- Assorted Beads
- Metal Ring
Steps (24 steps, 60 minutes)
-
1
Cut a length of jewelry wire (I used 20 gauge). This will be wrapped around the loop of the dream catcher so make sure it is decently long.
-
2
Begin weaving the wire around the loop until you've gone all the way around. You can use your hands for this but I recommended using jewelry pliers.
-
3
Once you've finished going all the way around, cut off the the extra wire and pinch it with your plies so it lays flat.
-
4
Now attach a thinner wire by wrapping it around the top a few times. Be sure to leave a tail at the top long enough to make a loop on for later.
-
5
You will now be tying the wire like you do a dream catcher- looping the wire around points along the border. My points were a little less than an inch apart. Do this all the way around.
-
6
This is what your dream catcher should look like so far. You may have more or less knots than I do depending on the distance of your knots and the size of your hoop, but something like this.
-
7
Using the same looping method, you'll continue looping the wire through the spaces between the previous loops instead of the border hoop.
-
8
It should start looking like this. Continue this in a spiral all the way around.
-
9
You can occasionally thread a bead onto the wire for decoration.
-
10
Once your dream catcher starts to look like a net and you still have a little hole in the middle (for the good dreams to pass through, of course) it is about time to finish it off.
-
11
Thread on a small feather bead or pendant...
-
12
...and wrap the wire around a few times in the back to knot it off. Cut off extra wire and pinch to secure.
-
13
Make a loop on the top of the hoop using the tail you left at the beginning. Add on a jump ring.
-
14
Next, grab 3 jump rings and cut 3 lengths of chain around an inch long.
-
15
Open a jump ring and attach it along the bottom of the dream catcher. Hook on one of the chains that you just cut and close the jump ring.
-
16
Repeat the process 2 more times so all three chains hang along the bottom of the dream catcher.
-
17
Cut some wire and make a hoop on one end to create an eye pin.
-
18
Thread on one of the assorted beads and then create another loop on top.
-
19
Attach a feather bead to the bottom loop.
-
20
Repeat 2 more times with assorted beads.
-
21
Attach the three pieces you just made to each of the dangling chains using the top loop. Now the pendant is done.
-
22
Cut some chain to the length you want your necklace and then thread it through the jump ring on the top of the pendant.
-
23
Attach a clasp to the open ends of the chain using jump rings.

Wear your new dream catcher with pride :)
