Steps (6 steps, 240 minutes)

  1. 1

The first thing I had to do was find my costume pieces. I already owned the petticoat, white T, fishnets & socks, but the tutu, silver blouse, and wig I bought.
The first thing I did was decide to embellish the blouse with little silver bells, sewed onto the edges of the blouse.

  2. 2

Next, I decided that the cute sparkly tutu needed some embellishment too, so I attached more little bells to the top layer of tulle, around the bottom edge of the tutu, and then sewed blue & silver ribbons onto the waistband.

  3. 3

The makeup was the most complicated part of the whole thing. Total, I think the whole makeup process took about an hour and a half. I found blue & silver false eyelashes in a makeup store, and started with those (attached with eyelash glue) and white cream makeup over my whole face as a base.

  4. 4

Then, using a sparkly medium blue loose powder, I accented my eyes and cheekbones.

  5. 5

Then it was time to attach some of the tiny plastic blue & sliver gems I'd bought at an art store. These can be glued anywhere on your face with tiny dabs of eyelash glue. I placed mine over my eyes, along my cheekbones, and one at the corner of my mouth like a beauty mark.
I finished the makeup with blue & silver eyeliner around my eyes, and mascara, and I layered sparkly blue shadow over top of blue eyeliner on my lips.

  6. 6

After all the makeup was done & I was dressed in all my layers, it was time to put on my fabulous afro wig & head wreath. The wreath I'd made a few years ago for another costume. It's made of blue & silver sparkly faux leaves bought at Michael's Arts Store just after Xmas - very cheap. I bought the kind with wire running through them (semi-flexible), so I could twist the stems around each other to form a wreath. Very easy!
