Description

I've had an old t-shirt lying around my house just waiting for me to do something, so I finally took pity on it and decided to do something simple but interesting. :D this is my first How-to, I hope everyone likes it!!

Instructions

  1. Small dsc00379 1249512434

First, find an old T-shirt you don't mind cutting. I chose a plain white t-shirt but any t-shirt will do.

  2. Small dsc00380 1249527371

try your t-shirt on and mark where you want your neckline. two little dots at the top are all you need, of course if you prefer to be more exact you could actually outline the whole neckline.

  3. Small dsc00381 1249527776

now its time for the cutting! get your scissors and start cutting an arc beginning/ending at the dots you marked. this part is mostly speculation, and you can cut this shirt however low (or high :D) you want.

  4. Small dsc00383 1249528985

So, now that you've cut your T-shirt, try it on quickly to see how it fits. If you'd like a more smooth finish you can hem the neckline, but I'm just going to be lazy and not do anything. The Next step is to pick out the buttons you want to put on the shirt and where you want to put them. I have a peanut butter jar filled with buttons so I chose a few random ones, but you can get some really pretty ones from the extra buttons you get from buying clothing or from vintage and fabric stores.

now we have to sew the buttons onto the shirt! I used a different colored thread just to spice things up, and just sewed 'em on! Make sure they are secure, so you don't have to worry about falling buttons while you are wearing your shirt.

  6. and we are completely done! I was thinking about cuffing the sleeves, so if you would like to try that out go ahead! Thanks so much for following the How-to!
