Instructions

  1. Small 6145

Boil up a pan of water, place a bowl over the pan, and put the bar of white chocolate in the bowl all broken up Try not to eat too much of the chocolate, but you know, you're only human.

  2. Small 6146

When it's all melted, keep it on the heat (Don't you dare take it off! I made this mistake and it wasn't pretty) and stir the cream into it. The problem comes if you take it off of the heat in that the cream is so cold the chocolate tries to harden itself again and it won't mix in.

  3. Small 6147

When everything is beautifully blended, pour it into serving vessels. Because I like to pretend to be posh I've put it in wine glasses. If you're sensible and value your life, you might want to wait for the mixture to cool a little bit before you put it in cold glasses. Cold glass does not like hot. I have broken so many bowls and glasses forgetting this vital rule.

  4. Small 6148

Stick it in the fridge to set. This will take ages. I had mine in overnight because I didn't need it for ages, but it should be ok after four hours or so. While this is happening, chop up your strawberries. I realise you don't really need a picture for this but I think it looks pretty.

  5. Small 6149

Stick the chopped up strawbs into a pan, and this is where you get a choice: You can either make a weird kind of jam by smoodging the strawberries under your spoon and adding sugar and heating it through, OR you can make a syrup out of the sugar and the balsamic vinegar by doing the above, without the smoodging, and with balsamic vinegar. I know vinegar might sound an odd choice but it's what posh people do, and they do it for a reason. It is lovely. Plus, it's balsamic which is totally different from other vinegars.

  6. Small 6151

Top the glasses with the strawberry mixture, (once again, leave to cool before you put it in, if you so like) and then leave to set for another while longer. I served mine with heart shaped shortbread and fresh strawberries.
