Paint the board or canvas black. Cut out a cardboard crescent. Tear up little bits of blotting paper and stick them on the 'moon' giving a nice rough texture. Let it dry then paint in a pale yellow craft paint mixed with pearlescent medium. Splatter some of the paint/medium onto the board/canvas using a paintbrush, to make stars. When dry, stick the moon in place using a couple of sticky pads. Make the balloons out of thick paper and paint them. add a piece of cotton to each. Stick each balloon onto the sky using a sticky pad to create a 3D effect. Wind the cotton pieces round the moon and stick to the back of it. Snip off any surplus.
