Welsh Rarebit

Cheese on toast with stout, mustard and pickles!

You Will Need (9 things)

  • 2 tbsp Wholegrain Mustard
  • 50 g Butter
  • 50 g Flour
  • 300 g Cheddar Cheese plus extra to sprinkle
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 8 Slices of Bread
  • 250 ml Stout
  • Salt and Black Pepper
  • Pickles to serve

Steps (5 steps, 15 minutes)

    Place the cheese, flour, mustard, butter, stout and Worcestershire sauce in a pan and heat gently until it begins to melt.

    Stir the sauce constantly, stopping to taste and season to your liking.

  3. 3

    Spread the tops of the bread with the sauce and sprinkle with some more cheddar.

    Place under a hot grill and cook until the cheese begins to bubble and turn golden.

    Serve with a few slices of pickle.
