Everything in this project came from a thrift store, a garage sale, or a scrap pile at the local motorcycle shop. The black circular pieces are cut from a length of non-biodegradable rubber air compressor hose. I cleaned it, cut it into 1/2 inch sections, used craft wire to but beads in the center, and connected it to a length of chain. Now, instead of that piece of hose going into a landfill, it can be worn around my neck. Great way to show your support for green efforts. Think about it. If 200 people could find a use for 6 inches of rubber hose, we could keep 100 feet of rubber hose out of a landfill!
