Description

These wristwarmers / fingerless gloves will keep you warm and cosy in winter. Tubular cuffing is available from fabric stores, but if you can't get it, use the leg part of some long, stretchy ribbed socks instead

Instructions

  1. Small dscf6577 1258580155

Gather together the stuff you need....fake fur fabric ( I'm using the long pile stuff) scissors, cardboard template, tubular cuffing ( or socks)

  2. Small dscf6580 1258580567

Make a cardboard template 8" x 4.5" approx. Place on reverse of fur fabric, and mark around with chalk. Then mark another one with chalk

  3. Small dscf6579 1258580726

Cut out the two pieces...use sharp scissors and snip through the backing fabric only...do not cut the furry pile if possible.

  4. Small dscf6586 1258581020

Take you furry pieces and determine what is the botom...pile of fur should run down towards bottom and ovehang the edge. Now oversew the bottom edge with zig zag stitch to prevent fraying, whilst keeping the long fur pile out of the way if possible.

  5. Small dscf6587 1258581182

Fold over, and sew a narrow seam Repeat with other piece of fur, and set aside for later......

  6. Small dscf6581 1258581363

Now take the cuffing ( or socks) and cut two tubular pieces about 4 -5 " long. Oversew all round the top and bottom edges with zig zag stitch to prevent fraying, or apply "fray check".

  7. Small dscf6583 1258581571

Pin stretch lace all round top edge

  8. Small dscf6584 1258581815

Either tack or pin in position, then attatch lace by sewing two rounds of zig zag or stretch stitch.

    Looks like this .....

  10. Small dscf6588 1258582265

Insert this into furry tube made earlier, whilst repeating sewing mantra " right sides together..."Pul lacy edge right through till level with bottom edge of furry section Match up top edges and sew all round with zig zag or stretch stitch twice...once near edge, and again about quarter of an inch below
